Jonny Heinzen
I was born and raised in Glenview, Illinois, a suburb north of Chicago. I attended Glenbrook South High School, where I took an Intro to Graphic Design class that sparked my passion for the field.
After high school, I decided to change my environment and enrolled at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, to pursue a degree in graphic design. My time in Colorado helped me grow both creatively and personally. Over four years, I developed a strong understanding of design principles and why good design is essential in communication and branding.
After graduating, I began my professional graphic design career in Jacksonville, Florida, working at Swisher International Inc. During my two years there, I was trusted with high-level design responsibilities in a fast-paced corporate environment. The experience deepened my appreciation for consistency, precision, and how evolving design trends impact business success. It also sharpened my ability to deliver clear, brand-aligned visuals across multiple platforms.
From April 2020 to 2022, I worked as a freelance designer, collaborating with clients across various industries. This phase gave me the freedom to explore different creative approaches and strengthen my communication and project management skills.
In 2022, I joined All Points Public Relations, where I led design, content creation, and social media management for multiple national franchise brands. I handled everything from writing and scheduling posts to managing Facebook and Google ad campaigns. I was also a main point of contact for several clients, ensuring campaigns stayed on-brand and met marketing goals. The role gave me valuable agency experience and a deeper understanding of how to blend design with strategy.
Since August 2023, I’ve returned to freelance design full-time. This allows me to apply everything I’ve learned—corporate structure, agency collaboration, and creative flexibility—into custom, effective design work for a wide range of clients.
